Carolyn J. Carswell
Carolyn was the only child born to Purcell and Carrie McQuaige on August 20, 1944 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Carolyn gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Nazarene Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Ricky v. Burgess. Because Carolyn took her new life with Christ very seriously, she became a committed member of the Pastor's Aide, and the Missionary Board of N.B.C. She continued to be a member of these organizations even after her health no longer permitted her to leave her home.
Carolyn was not only a devoted mother of 2 biological daughters but was also the Licensed Home Daycare Mother to many children for over 30 years. To which Vincent Sims Tolliver is one of her oldest babies.
Carolyn leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 55 years, Melvin Carswell, her loving daughters Lenetta McClellan, and LaShonne Hartwell, 4 grandchildren, Erica Collins, Robert Hartwell (Sheree), Gregory and Melvin McClellan, 4 great-grandchildren, Janiya, Robert Jr., Kortez and Henry, and her lifelong sister/friends Reva Redwood, Velma Robinson, and Juanita Tolliver.
Carolyn has been truly blessed throughout her life and she would want us all to know that God is Real and He carried her through many difficult times in her life.
