Vinie Boyd

Vinie Bolden was born on March 24, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA to the union of Archer and Eleanor Bolden.  She went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 18, 2022, at Shadyside Hospital. Vinie was educated at Muse Elementary School in Muse, PA and Cecil High School in Cecil, PA.  It was in the 9th grade that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the small church on Euclid Street, three doors down from her house in Canonsburg, PA.  As an adult she attended Miracle Temple Church Of God In Christ.

On June 17, 1980, she married K. Douglas Boyd at Pentecostal Temple Church Of God In Christ, where they were both members.  To this union was born one son, Mark Boyd.  She was a member until she found a home at Victory Temple Original Church of God.

Throughout her life, Vinie suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, dementia, breast cancer, stage four kidney disease, and chronic arthritis.  However, the heart of this servant found ways to serve in every ministry that she was a member, or that she visited for a service.  She felt the call to do the work, and she did just that. She lived a life of servanthood, and in everything that she touched, she did it as unto her Heavenly Father.  She served in such capacities, as a Cafeteria Aid for the University of Pittsburgh until 1989. She cleaned houses, and did catering for various Jewish events until 1996.

Vinie visited and ministered to the sick and shut-in in various hospitals and nursing homes.  Any chance she got, she was going to talk about the goodness of the Lord and the salvation of Christ.  She walked the streets and passed out tracts about salvation.

Vinie was predeceased by her mother, father, and two sisters, Priscilla Smith and Hester Little.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her only brother, Ronald Bolden, her only son, Mark Boyd; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, extended family, friends and fellow church members.

Funeral  Services will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at the Victory Temple Church, 2824 Graham Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. Visitation will be 10am and services immediately follows at 11am.
